Compare Mobile Phones Like Motorola, etc For Special Deals

By Michael Rolfe

Motorola began as Chicago based company Galvin Manufacturing Corporation as a radio and communications pioneer. Its success with two ray radios turned to in-car telephones by the mid-twentieth century, and by 1973, Motorola had invented the first portable phone prototype. Called the DynaTAC 8000X, it didn't go on sale for another ten years, but it was still the world's first commercial cellular phone on launch

Today, Motorola develops a portfolio of technologies, solutions and services - including wireless handsets, wireless accessories, digital entertainment devices, wireless access systems, voice and data communications systems, and enterprise mobility solutions - that make mobile experiences possible. With the rapid convergence of fixed and mobile broadband Internet and the growing demand for next-generation mobile communication solutions, our mission is to lead the next wave of innovative products that meet the expanding needs of our customers around the world.

Among the top brands of mobile phones around the world includes a brand that helped in revolutionizing the true meaning of mobility, and that is the Motorola branded mobile phones. Motorola phones are manufactured by Motorola Inc. that not only specializes in wireless telephone handsets, also designing and selling wireless network infrastructure equipment such as cellular transmission base stations and signal amplifiers.

Motorola lost its early lead in the market during the late 1990s as Nokia's phones became more users friendly, but bounced back in the early 2000s with its v series of handsets, incorporating new technology such as color screens and integrated cameras. It struck a goldmine in 2004 though with the release of the first super-thin RAZR phone, the RAZR V3. A storming success helped in no small part by a David Beckham marketing campaign, the clam shell design has gone on to influence almost every Motorola model since, from the SLVR to the PEBL. Motorola was the first company to sell cell phones on a large scale. It's used its reputation as a trendsetter to good effect ever since

Groundbreaking Developments in Cellular Technology: Perhaps Motorola's greatest moment came in 1983, when they developed and were granted an FCC license for the world's first commercial cellular phone. The DynaTAC 8000X is comically huge by today's standards, but at the time it represented a revolution that would allow people to communicate with one another from anywhere - and without the assistance of a land-line based phone.

Motorola creates several different products for use of the government, public safety officials, business installments, and the general public. These products include cell phones, laptops, computer processors, and radio communication devices. The Motorola RAZR line has sold over a 110 million units bringing the company to the number two mobile phone slot in 2005 (Nr 1 Nokia). The RAZR became a cult phone and many variations were produced.
