By Gurpreet Singh

Have you ever wore glasses but now you don't know which type to select? Eyeconic Frames has written a guide to help ensure that the glasses that you do wear are just correct. Read on for more information.

Glasses are in fashion now and more and more people are using them as fashion accessories. It's important to know which frames to wear, and the colours to choose, which highlight your features. You need to co-ordinate well in order for your outfit to fit your frames and visa versa. By choosing the correct frames it will help you to give you confidence and help you in your daily activities.

So how do you go about choosing? Your eyecare practitioner will gladly spend time with you when selecting your frames, helping and advising over the ones that look best and suit your lifestyle. Some practices even have computer screens that enable you to see how you look in certain frames. Ultimately, the choice has to be yours, but here are a few useful pointers on choices for different complexions and face shapes.

Darker Skin: People with olive or Mediterranean skin can benefit from wearing brighter colours which stand out such a silver and gold. Other subtle colours such as burgundy or brown could also help.

Black Skins: All metallic frames suit black skins. Amber usually works well too, but black is either wonderful or awful, depending on style. Be careful with colours - they rarely contribute to overall style unless they're bright, fun and specially chosen to work with a specific outfit.

Faces that are oval in face: Oval faces have a wider forehead than the jaw. This is usually in most cases. They also have a smoothly rounded face which is balanced. Almost all frames would suit this shape but try to avoid larger frames, such as aviator style prescription glasses.

Round faces: For faces that are short and fairly wide with full cheeks and a round chin, choose slimming styles. Slightly elongated shapes work well as long as they are not too shallow, while square, or even up-swept styles can help to highlight the upper face. Avoid small and round or very large shapes that make the face look even rounder.

Heart-shaped: Squared frames would work very well with heart shaped faces, as well as including glasses that are round in shape. These faces have a small, neat chin and mouth, tapering up and out to a broader forehead so choose frames to highlight this.

Squared Shape faces: Oval style frames would work well for people who have a squared face. You would want to choose glasses that help to make the jaw seem a lot softer.
