Tips to be a Successful Bride at a Bridal Fair

By Ciara Daykin

Are you planning to visit a Bridal Fair? Well then, you better be prepared. A Bridal Fair can be quite exhausting for a bride. Expect yourself to get completely crazy as you go around vying with other brides and rushing from one exhibitor to the other. So how about a few wonderful tips to help you deal with a bridal fair in style?

Tip # 1: Wear comfy shoes! - You're going to be walking a mile on a hard tradeshow floor. Yes, it's lovely to look fashionable but the brides in stilettos never last long at the bridal fair. If you really want to see everything and be comfortable think about your feet first! (But be a little elegant and leave the stinky gym sneakers at home... opt for some cute supportive flats)

Your Timing Should Be Spot On At The Bridal Fair - If you want some one on one time with the exhibitors and some inexpensive wedding gowns, your timing should be spot on. So make sure you are at the show first thing in the morning. Also while everyone is busy at the fashion show, utilize your time to have a chat with some of the exhibitors. This is the best way to get some quality time with the exhibitors.

Take Sheets Of Labels To The Bridal Fair - Why sheets of labels, you might ask? Well, thats because exhibitors offer prizes at their booths which will require you to fill out your complete details. But with so many booths, you will be wasting so much of your precious time by filling out the same information again and again. So before you leave for the bridal fair, get a couple of sheets of labels and on each label write down your details such as your name, your groom's name, your wedding date, your address, phone number and email. At the bridal fair, you can just peel off one of the labels and paste it on the form. Now isnt that a great idea?

Ignore The Bridezilla At The Bridal Fair - The dreaded bridezilla will be there at the show too. To have a good time at the show you will need to know how to handle her. She will push you around. Find faults with your wedding colors. She will keep making loud and crude remarks about how everything is so extravagant. She will push you to reach the prize box and demand for her prize. She will be rude to the exhibitors. Just dont pay attention to her. She will only bother you more, if you react to her. So ignore her and enjoy your time at the bridal fair!

Patience And Politeness Is A Great Virtue At The Bridal Fair - Learn something from the bridezilla! What do I mean by that? The bridezilla teaches you exactly how you should NOT behave at the bridal fair. Be nice to the exhibitors. Wait patiently for your turn. They might have some great deals for you. But if you are not patient, how will you know about them?

Being nice and patient will also help you get some great free advice that you can use at your wedding. Wedding vendors love to work with nice brides and if you are nice to them, you will be surprised to see that they can be really nice to you!

Tip #6: Hydrate! " The Round Up Centre with over 1000 people in it at any given time can heat up pretty quick. And you can bet the water ain't cheap! So bring along some water for your journey. You don't want to get a headache!!

Be Confident While Making Your Choices - At the bridal fair, you will find lots of exhibitors, lots of brides and lots of confusion. But dont get overwhelmed with it. You dont have to make a choice right there. Here are some tips which can help you make the right choice:

Look For What You Want - If you know what you want, just look around at the bridal fair. As far as the rest is concerned, just have fun! All your vendors dont have to be picked right there. You might like some vendors and you may just not like the others. Get in touch with the ones you like and forget about the ones you dont.

Approach Each Exhibitor Calmly at the Bridal Fair - You cannot run away from the sales pitch. You are there to buy and exhibitors are going to try their best to make sure that you buy it from them. So be calm and ask the exhibitors politely to answer your own personal questions.

Thanks But No Thanks - If you're not interested thank them and walk away. Don't take the flyer and load up your bridal bag. Guess what? You'll quickly rifle through that bag ONCE after the fair, pulling out the vendors you connected with... and then it'll sit in your closet to be found on your 2 year wedding anniversary!
