Prom Tuxedo Tips

By Victor Santerino

The number one priority when it comes to prom preparation is the acquisition of a prom tuxedo. However, this can be a challenging undertaking for anyone who has never actually worn a tux before.

This article was written to help people new to the tuxedo arena find that perfect tux. You will read about issues such as measurements and colors.

First, you need to decide the source of your prom tuxedo. I recommend that you do not borrow one from a neighbor, friend, brother, or parent. These people will probably not be an exact match when it comes to measurements and you may look silly.

Getting measured can be easily achieved by going to a professional rental company or sales organization. The measurements that should be taken are your neck, chest, waist, arm length, and inseam.

The color you choose should be black when trying to fit in with everyone else. When attempting to be different you can go with a more subtle change like midnight blue or gray or a flashy distinction like white.

Vest colors should coincide with the color of your dates dress. Ensure these colors match up by bringing a piece of material from the dress to the tuxedo shop you buy or rent from.

Accessories can be difficult to put on for a newbie. Make sure you pay careful attention to what the sales person is saying when he gives you instructions on putting items like studs and cuff links onto your shirt.

Finally be sure to get your prom tuxedo as early as possible. This needs to be done early because you will be competing with your classmates for the tuxedos each shop have.

As always thank you for reading my article on the prom tuxedo. Bookmark this page and refer back to it before venturing out to purchase or rent your next prom tux.
