This is a small selection of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. I hope you find a picture or two that you will enjoy.
ROLE MODELS: Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (William Scott), a couple of energy drink sales people, are going to see some hard jail time after destroying the company vehicle while binging. The option to get out of going to prison is to work in community service for 150 hours. The catch is they will have to mentor some kids as sort of a big brother. Let the fun begin.
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogul, Tony Stark is kidnapped by Afghan rebels. They command him to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was wounded during his capture, and has metal in his chest. To overcome his wound, and get away from the rebels, he designs a suit of armor, which makes him virtually invincible. Iron Man is born.
HAMLET 2: Failed actor Mr. Marshz now finds himself teaching high school theatre to bored and unmotivated kids. When the high school loses a major building, the school administration feels that the acting classes will have to go. Fully inspired, he tries to keep the school from dropping his classes by producing Hamlet 2, a new version of the classic, which he writes himself.
THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and law enforcement officials, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Crime is now down, that is until the Joker shows up, and things get a lot worse. Batman is in a battle now, as the Joker has unleashed his criminal plots on the big city.
TROPIC THUNDER: With an abundance of acting talent this film is a spoof on Vietnam war movies. Things are going bad, so to get the over rated cast of actors to make a true epic masterpiece, the desperate director into the jungle, and leaves them on their own. He hopes to overwhelm them so they will produce a work of genius that will be recorded on hidden cameras. Unbelievably, as the director blows up on an old French land mine, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are convinced everything is just an act, but the bullets flying are actually real. This is a great cast with incredible make -p for Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise.
STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who each live with their single parents, are going to share a room because their mom and dad get married, you can only imagine the mess. With Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as the key players, and you have the ingredients for a raucous comedy. This film is a sure fire bet for comedy lovers.
Jumper: During a near death experience, David Rice discovers he has an unbelievable ability. He has the ability to actually teleport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. Later, he becomes aware that he is not alone in having this ability. After he becomes used to jumping around the world, he learns that there are people that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. He now must battle for his life, as these paladins believe he should die.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This film tells us the tale of Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton), who has become the green Hulk. This feature film is a story about the comic character the Hulk. This movie stars Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, and Liz Tyler. Louis Leterrier directs this film. This movie would be considered a thriller.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills are piling up and Zack and Miri, roomies who have been friends since grade school, need to come up with some cash soon. The answer? Easy, start making porno movies. Obviously this seems like a good recipe for a great comedy.
Most people buy or rent films, and watch them at home. A new way people are acquiring movies is by downloading them directly off websites. There are websites that will download virtually any movie ever made.
