I Want a History of Cameras.

By Adam S

For the past twenty years there has been a huge technological change in retail camera's. The convention analog info has now been metamorphosed by digital bytes. The first customer based digital camera was sold by Kodak and Apple during 1995. Since then several models have been inducted into the market such as the Canon PowerShot A60, Kodak Easy Share C533, Fuji FinePix E900, Nikon Cooped S6. The new kid on the block in the niche is the Canon PowerShot SD770. The big advantage of tiny digital cameras is that they are small and they can be easily carried around even in shirt pockets.

The history of cameras can be tracked back centuries. The idea of camera was discovered by Mo Ti of China. cams evolved from camera obscuras " Daguerreotypes - Polaroids " film cams " disposable and last the digital cam. The camera obscuras was an eye contraption and it was mainly used for drawing It was a box with a hole in which light passed to hit a particular part of the back wall. It created an identical copy and the artist could draw the image.

The Daguerreotypes cam had coating of copper plates by mercury vapor, which produced mirror like exact twin of the picture. in 1948, Polaroid created the instant film cameras. It uses integral film with exposures which develop automatically once the shot is snapped. in 1888 the Kodak intro'd simple use camera with 100 film exposures. in 1959 Nikon introduced the first wide 35mm SLR camera. In 1979 Canon introduced its first auto focus 35mm cam. during 1980 Kodak and Fuji film created disposable cam's which would be expired only once. In 1995 Kodak produced the revolutionary digital camera to the public. The latest development is the Canon SD770, which is small in mass with better photo quality and long lasting battery.

Digital cameras like most other cameras are used to capture pictures and videos of people, places or things. They come in varying sizes, pigments, namebrands, zooms, resolutions, playbacks, values, features and qualities. Conventional cameras need films, and this film was taken, finished and photographs were made. A digital cam doesnt require film. The operation of a digital cam is the same as a conventional cam. But the difference is in way the pics are stored and the number of pics stored. The pics are saved in small memory devices. These images can be deleted and the mem device can be expended over and over again. The number of images saved in a mem card depends on the capacity of the device. When a pic is taken, light is reflected on the lenses, which picked up on digital sensors, which are computer devices, called CCD. The sensors are counted in mega pixel and more the number of mega pixel, the better the picture. The PowerShot SD770 has 10 mega pixels to give the greatest quality picture.

In a digital cam you can actually click your photograph and inspect it right there and immediatly. You can also think on the photographs you want to keep or toss without actually printing them. They are tiny and can be easily carried. The pictures stored in the mem card of your digi camera can be uploaded into your PC. This can be done by taking the pictures from the mem card to your pc's HD or floppy disk. The digi camera comes with a cable which can be connected to your computer to move the photos. You can give your pics among your friends and relatives in e-mail. However, digital cameras are more expensive than film cameras. They use more power especially in cold weather. There is a limit to the size of the photo you wish to take. Poor lighting might cause grains in the image. When new cameras are introduced, you will find it difficult to get addons for older cams.

The latest in digital camera, the Canon PowerShot SD770, 10.0 mega pixels, 3x optical zoom lens, 2.5 inch LCD monitor. Thepowershot SD770has high battery capacity. This camera can shoot about 300 images and the price ranges from $155 to $325.

digi cameras have certainly taken the market today. When you want to buy a digi cam you need to look at the features of the camera, the resolution or capacity to produce quality photos|pics|photograps|pictures. You also need to pay special attention to features like the built-in memory, the battery life, the LCD and the mega pixel and zoom capacity.
