I have made a small selection of the movies released this year (2008). This list consists of the movies that I think you might like. Hopefully you will see a couple of movies that are good viewing.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: Wild and crazy nights in Las Vegas are normal. Young partiers Joy and Jack wake up to discover that they are married. After winning a huge jackpot, the question is who should get the money, so they ask a judge for a decision. The strange ruling is that they must stay together for six months, and see if they can settle their differences. With lots of money at stake, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to get the money for themselves.
FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Grief stricken from a break up with long time girlfriend Sarah, a TV actress, Peter eventually decides to take a vacation to the Hawaiian Islands to recover from his depression. Of course, when he checks into the resort hotel, he looks up and sees the woman who just left him and her new boyfriend, who's bigger than life. The stage is set for a classic romantic comedy.
TROPIC THUNDER: With an abundance of acting talent this outrageous flick is a claasic parody of popular war films. To get a realistic performance from his crew to make a true epic masterpiece, the now venturesome director into the middle of nowhere, and leaves them on thier own. The object is to overwhelm them into producing a war classic, which hidden cameras will capture. Incredibly, because the director walks over a land mine and is blown apart, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are covinced everything is just an act, but the bullets flying are actually real. Great cast with incredible make up for Robert Downey Jr.and Tom Cruise.
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanastan. He is ordered to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was wounded when his convoy was attacked, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To live through this life threatening wound, and break away from his enemies, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. We now have another super hero, Iron Man.
THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, along with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Things are going very well, that is until the Joker shows up, and attacks the city. Now, Batman really has his hands full, as the Joker has unleashed his criminal insanity on Gotham City.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this is the continuation to the animated smash hit Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Glorial (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) want to return to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, and go back to the lives they know. Instead, due to the Penguins, they find themselves going to have more adventures first.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie tells the story of Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton), who, because of a gamma ray experiment gone bad, has been changed into the Incredible Hulk. This box office hit is about the marvel comic hero, the Incredible Hulk. Edward Norton is the top star in this film. Louis Leterrier directed this movie. The film style is sci-fi/action-thriller.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: The Indiana Jones movies are back, after a 19 year hiatus. This is the fourth movie about the adventures of Indiana Jones. In this episode Indiana is pitted against post war Soviets. The Soviets are looking for some South American relics, and the secrets they carry.
STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who both live at home with one parent, find themselves having to share a bedroom because their mom and dad get married, we see that they are bound to have problems. Put Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as the key players, and this has the makings for a funny movie. This film is a sure thing for a good laugh in 2008.
These days just about everyone buys or rents films, and views them on their home entertainment system. A new way people are aquiring movies is by downloading them directly from the internet. There are websites that offer downloading of almost any film you can think of.
